Dragon: Quan

Here, I try to improve my colour choice and design choice abilities even further with another dragon character!
Parts of this character may be subject to change, as it is a work in progress. But regardless, I'm open to RPs with this character.

Name: Quan
Species: Dragon... Subspecies: He is primarily a weaver, dragons that are good with magic but are usually a little frail compared to other dragons.
Gender: Male
Age: Estimation ~150 (Most known dragons can live to the age of 1000 years, sometimes further)

Birthplace: (Unknown valley for now)
Location: Aristocrat Kingdom.
Occupation: Gate-keeper.

Personality: (Wip)
He represents independence and determination for purpose.

Likes:
Dawn and dusk, rainy days and moonlight are all quite calming to him... Scenes like those are easy on the eyes and overall quite nice.

Intellectuals. He likes to hear what they have to say, this being one of the reasons to how he got involved with the kingdom, of course he won't always like them, but he feels he can trust them better.

Unlike some, he actually approves of high amounts of pride, as long as it doesn't disregard others, result in stupid actions. He also dislikes it if the pride is improperly justified...

Perks:
Independent and tactical.
Moderate magic resistance.

Flaws/Weaknesses/Dislikes:
He hates anger and hatred... This is somewhat tricky to deal with when he finds himself angry in response to the anger of someone else. He sees anger as the inability to cope, understand and accept things, a matter of becoming a thoughtless beast rather than being fully rational which is hard to achieve in itself... Admittedly, he isn't perfectly rational either.

He isn't a very good team player, since he prefers to start and finish his own things, but it isn't impossible for a team to assign him to certain tasks... He usually feels that he doesn't have the same intention or way of doing things as the person who started the task and also feels that other will not have the same intention or way of doing things as him when finishing a task he starts, especially if the task is complicated and requires some form of strategy or set up that some may not understand. This also reduces his will to manage a team if he ever leads one... This doesn't always apply in every situation however and there are other ways in which he can be helpful.

Weapon weakness: Maces

Physical weakness: A bit physically frail compared to other dragons.

Backstory: (Work in progress.)
He was born within a great valley.

He was taught wisdom ever since he was young, but the exact words he was told were each open to interpretation and flexibility, which allowed him to develop his own way of thinking and upon thinking on his own, became more independent... On top of this, he was allowed to experience the outer world and gain experiences, but never travelled too far due to his young loyalty and some understanding at the time.

He heard word from another dragon; a new kingdom rising up in a certain area, being built as new by a society of people that originate from different areas, each claiming to have a fair amount of power individually and share a similar vision and goal...

(Time skips, I'll think of the middles later)

"If they're really as smart as others say they are, then they shouldn't assume that I have a negative intention... Am I going to go this far for a purpose?..."

He decided to approach this kingdom curiously despite anything he was told,  in which he was halted at the gates, but they could identify that he is only curious, has no negative intentions and they themselves didn't seem to hold any negative bias towards dragons or any visibly negative assumptions towards them... They welcomed him nicely, but didn't let him through all the gates in order to ensure that they're safe... And to safely learn more about him, not just with various kinds of questions, but also body language reading and various forms of light mind reading that he was told not to resist and so, showed no resistance... 

Eventually, he ended up as a gate keeper after agreeing to their intentions and beliefs, he has earned their trust.

Abilities: (I may change this, but I'm planning on giving him weirder powers)
- Friction manipulation - If he can see it, feel it or encompass it, he can change how it interacts on contact in terms of friction... This includes internal friction and air friction surrounding himself and targets.

- Filter Shield - A shielding spell that carries a basic artificial intelligence in order to know when to turn untouchable and recharge or turn solid... Essentially, the shield is able to filter out uncharged attacks easily and recharge by turning intangible... It recharges by partially existing in a fiery hot realm, to which it takes in heat and light like a solar panel to recharge and it becomes more existent in that realm whenever it becomes intangible... However, the filter shield itself requires a charge up to be cast, but once its set up, it'll power itself... Overflowing power goes to Quan and it does not let strong attacks completely break it by turning intangible upon taking as much energy as it can.

- Light String - Has the appearance of a fine glowing string that rapidly travels through the air, which carries an inner energy that combines with surrounding material, converting it into itself before exploding with all that energy... The string seems to have smart homing properties and can phase through solid objects, when it is triggered, it'll merge with its inner energy and trigger its reaction.

- Explosion manipulation - He is able to control the angles, radius and shape of explosions caused by him or involve his contributing power and elements.

- Magical trait: Riot energy. - The presence of his mana tends to attack nearby unfamiliar mana of the enemy in a passive way, thus sacrificing itself to take down the opponent's mana in equal trade, but only when his mana comes into contact with the enemy's... This does not apply to all of his energy, this function is turned off for some of light string's properties.

Where he learnt the abilities:
Friction manipulation is an ability he slowly developed himself, he attempted telekinetic power, but found that his mana just couldn't function that way and had to make an alternative to how his extended influence could affect his surroundings... Telekinesis is widely known, to which he became aware of it from firstly his parents but also the kingdom.

Filter shield is a spell that was taught from a mid-advanced scroll in the kingdom long after joining the kingdom.

Light string is a modified laser beam technique, a basic laser beam is a widely known spell once again and over the years, he attempted to create a variation of it, but required the help of others to fully achieve this.

Explosion manipulation is a hidden talent that was detected by one of the higher ranking people in the kingdom. Upon discovery, it took a while to master it since it requires the capacity to very quickly think of a 3-dimensional view of an explosion from different angles... And alter it in the blink of an eye... He cannot simultaneously make two different explosion shapes each for two explosions occurring at the same time, but he can angle them differently.

Magical trait: Riot energy... Is basically genetic to him.
